Bring the HOME Field Advantage HOME!
About the Multi-Purpose Field and Track Campaign

In our 100-year history, Holy Name High School has always emphasized the development of the ‘Triple Threat’ student, dedicated to the improvement and growth of mind, body and spirit. Over the years we have strived to achieve that goal through exceptional academics, a diverse athletic and extracurricular program and a strong emphasis on faith.

To continue this tradition we need to provide our students with 21st century facilities. Our current grass playing field and accompanying track are no longer adequate for our athletic programs and put our outdoor athletic teams at a disadvantage. In today’s competitive high school environment we need to be on an even playing field. Most of the other high schools in our region are already training and playing on synthetic turf fields and running on all-weather tracks.

That is why Holy Name has committed to building a state-of-the-art synthetic turf multi-purpose field and all-weather track to provide a safe and sustainable facility where our students can train and compete. For the first time ever our outdoor sports will have a true home field advantage. It will broaden student participation and allow more practices, more games and a better sense of community to be fostered on campus. It will also help us to attract prospective students.

This project is a critical improvement to the Holy Name campus. That is why we are asking you to Team Up for Turf and show your Namer spirit and pride. Help us make our vision a reality!

The time is now to update this essential resource located on our campus. TEAM UP FOR TURF and support us as we build a multi-purpose field and track at Holy Name.

The Benefits of a Multi-Purpose Field and Track at Holy Name High School

All HNHS students will benefit from this field and track project, as it will:

Provide a safer, more consistent surface for athletes and yield more playable days for all sports and the marching band regardless of weather conditions
Give fall and spring athletic teams a place to practice daily
Allow soccer, lacrosse, and freshman and JV football to host home matches, and track and field to host meets on a state-of-the-art polyurethane surface
Encourage more students to attend home games and meets as the field and track will be right outside the school building
Serve as a place physical education classes can be held in the fall and the spring
Include permanent markings on the field to ensure the marching band, drill team and cheerleaders can practice and perform with greater precision
Be an ideal venue for a variety of non-athletic school events, such as assemblies and outdoor masses, as well as community events
Bring future Namers to the campus by hosting CYO football, Pop Warner, club soccer and club lacrosse games, practices and tournaments
Reduce the down-time and canceled practices due to muddy fields, dangerous holes and re-seeding, as that will be eliminated
Eliminate annual expenses such as fuel for mowing, seeding, fertilization, irrigation, field preparation and striping, with labor costs for field maintenance also being significantly reduced
